Don't miss Quincy High School's Blue Devils Soccer Game, Aug 21st!

Time for a Bridge Feeding.

No, we are not going out to the river and throw food at the bridge leading to West Quincy!  In this case we are talking about your lawn - the same lawn that you have been trampling on all summer long.  As we approach fall it may be time for something known as a bridge feeding.

This is the fertilization of a lawn so that it gets through the change of seasons and comes out healthy on the other end.  Your lawn may have had its late-spring feeding to restore its carbohydrate reserves so it was able to get through the ups and downs of summer.  What have you done since then besides mow it?

When you have a professional at your disposal, you know exactly when and how much to fertilize your yard.  It starts with a visit to www.doublegpestandlawn.com.  You will discover a Great River pro at lawn maintenance and pest control.  The next step is to call Greg and have someone come out to give you an estimate on year-round lawn maintenance at (217) 440-2847.

Things to do in Quincy - August 2017

(Click on the link above for more information)

Take a look at our calendar of events and grab the family for some quality time fun!

Why so Angry?

Doesn’t it seem like hornets and wasps have an “attitude” this time of year.  They are aggressive and often dangerous creatures in the summer.  They ruin your picnic and other warm-weather outings.  They also seem to indiscriminately sting humans and pets without provocation all over the Quincy/Hannibal area.  What’s up with that?

Are you aware that hornets and wasps kill over 100 Americans a year and are no friend to your four-legged companions either?  Many of the hornet and yellow jacket species that sting us are social insects.  Because of that, everything that they do is for the good of the colony.  They are not just mean, they are pre-programmed to inflict chaos!

You may be perfectly innocent, just walking around and suddenly you come upon a hornet’s nest.  Stop them before they attack by calling Double G Pest Control.  They have been eliminating hornets and wasps in Great River Country for over 20 years.  There is plenty of summer remaining so call Double G today at (217) 440-2847.
